THE OFFICIAL HOME OF THE EL MONTE/SEM JETS
Think you could be a Jet?
Becoming a Jet is about more than sign-ups and practice. It’s about commitment, attitude, and teamwork. Skills can be taught, anyone can learn to catch, throw, and run, but effort, discipline, respect, and integrity on and off the field matter just as much. We look for players who are ready to work hard, support their teammates, and take pride in their actions at school and at home.

Football Practice

Football practice is three times a week.
-
Tuesday
-
Wednesday
-
Thursday
Practice time: 4:30pm to 6:00pm
Practices are designed to help players learn skills, build confidence, and grow as teammates in a positive and supportive environment.
While we understand that family schedules and commitments come up, regular practice attendance helps players feel prepared and allows the team to function smoothly.
Practices are where players learn timing, teamwork, and fundamentals in a safe, age-appropriate setting. Parents are encouraged to communicate with coaches if a player needs to miss a practice. We place a strong emphasis on effort, positive attitude, respect, and encouragement for one another, knowing that growth on and off the field happens best when players feel supported.
Player safety is always a priority, and all practices focus on proper technique and development appropriate for the Peewee level.
Being a Jet means showing up with commitment, supporting your teammates, and taking pride in growing both as a player and as a person.
Football Games

Football games are typically held on Saturdays or Sundays, with game times varying depending on location and league scheduling.
Throughout the season, the Jets compete against teams from neighboring cities such as Azusa, Pico Rivera, La Puente, Whittier, Glendora, and Bell Gardens.
Home games are played at South El Monte High School, while away games may be held at other local fields.
Some games take place in the morning, while others are scheduled in the afternoon.
Players are asked to arrive at least one hour before game time for weigh-ins, warm-ups, and team preparation.
Parents and families are encouraged to attend and support the team by cheering positively and helping maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all players.
Game day is an opportunity for players to represent the Jets with pride, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.

Academics

Academics are an important part of being a Jet.
In order to participate, players are expected to maintain at least a C average, which is equivalent to a 2.0 GPA.
We believe school comes first, and football should support—not compete with—a player’s growth in the classroom.
Our goal is to encourage responsibility, effort, and good habits, understanding that every child learns differently.
If a player is struggling academically, we encourage families to communicate with coaches so we can support the player and emphasize improvement and accountability.
Team Divisions

Jets football teams are organized by age to ensure fair competition, safety, and appropriate development.
Players are placed into divisions based on their age as determined by league guidelines.
Our current divisions include:
-
Flag (Age 5-6)
-
Jr. Gremlin (Age 7-8)
-

-
Peewee (Age 12)
-
Jr. Midget (Age 13-14)
Age cutoff date: July 31st
Final placement may also depend on league rules, roster sizes, and player safety considerations.
